The leaders of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan held the second meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council
The second meeting was held at the Kuksaroy residence, chaired by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev Supreme Interstate Council
The head of our state emphasized that the format of the Supreme Interstate Council, established in 2024, has shown its relevance and effectiveness.
– Our relations today have reached the highest level of strategic partnership and alliance,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The parties discussed in detail new areas of interaction, ways to use bilateral potential and made a number of decisions that will give a significant impetus to the expansion of the Uzbek-Kazakh partnership.
Particular attention was paid to ensuring sustainable growth of mutual trade, diversifying its structure and creating favorable conditions for business.
It was noted with satisfaction that since the beginning of the year, trade turnover has reached 4 billion dollars. The goal is to bring this figure to 10 billion by 2030.
All necessary conditions have been created for this, a solid package of trade and investment agreements has been formed, the UzKazTrade company has been established, and mechanisms for direct interaction between business circles have been established.
Leader our country noted great successes in the field of industrial cooperation.
During the visit, the International Center for Industrial Cooperation "Central Asia" will be launched, as well as a number of significant projects worth $1.3 billion. In addition, a large-scale Industrial Cooperation Program worth over $8 billion has been prepared, including projects in the fields of chemistry, geology, infrastructure, logistics, agro-industry and many others.
The priority area is systemic partnership in the field of transport and logistics. The need for joint work to create new transport corridors was noted, including the Uchkuduk-Kyzylorda route and stimulation of cargo transportation in the ports of Aktau, Kuryk and Khorgos.
Willness was expressed to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of transportation and processing of energy resources, energy saving, implementation of “green” technologies and IT.
Effective measures will be taken to further strengthen cooperation in the water and environmental sphere. The parties welcomed the signing of the Agreement on the joint management and use of transboundary water bodies during the visit.
The leaders noted the special role of humanitarian ties. The successful holding of joint cultural events in Almaty and Astana this year - the Lazgi ballet, an exhibition of artists, a forum of writers and a youth festival, as well as the Days of Medicine of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan and the Days of Astana in Tashkent - was noted with satisfaction.
An agreement was reached to continue exchanges between scientific and educational institutions, youth organizations and to expand joint programs between higher educational institutions.
The importance of developing joint tourist routes and popularizing historical attractions, the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was emphasized.
Reports by Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers of Energy, Transport and Culture on the agenda of the negotiations were also heard.
As a result, a number of important decisions were made at the second meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council.
