On the Visit of the Foreign Minister to the Republic of Turkmenistan
On July 14, 2026, within the framework of the official visit of the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, a series of high-level meetings and talks aimed at further strengthening Uzbekistan–Turkmenistan relations were held.

During the visit, the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov was received by President of the Republic of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev were conveyed during the meeting.
The parties noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, the continuation of close engagement at all levels, and the steady growth of bilateral trade.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening the strategic partnership and strengthening the centuries-old bonds of friendship and good-neighborliness between the two countries.
On the same day, Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov held tête-à-tête talks with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.
The parties discussed further deepening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, ensuring the effective implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level, and maintaining the steady momentum of political dialogue.
They also focused on expanding cooperation in trade and economic relations, transport and logistics, energy, cultural and humanitarian ties, and cross-border cooperation, while coordinating their approaches to regional and international issues.
Following the talks, a number of bilateral documents aimed at further strengthening cooperation between the two countries were signed, including:
—An Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of Turkmenistan on Cooperation in the Field of International Information Security;
—A Cooperation Programme between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan for the period of 2027–2028.
The next round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan also took place.
The parties exchanged views on the implementation of the tasks set by the Heads of State, the priority areas of bilateral cooperation, as well as regional and international issues.
They noted that this mechanism serves to strengthen regular dialogue between the two foreign ministries and to shape the agenda for upcoming meetings at the highest and high levels.
