On March 5, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
At the beginning of the conversation, the President of Uzbekistan strongly condemned the drone attacks on the territory of Azerbaijan and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
During the call, it was particularly emphasized that the recent sharp escalation of tensions in the Middle East is leading to numerous civilian casualties and is a matter of serious concern.
It was stressed that such actions, occurring during the holy month of Ramadan, contradict universal human values, international norms, and the principles of the territorial integrity of states.
The Leader of Uzbekistan also expressed appreciation to Ilham Aliyev for the measures taken and the conditions created to ensure the safe evacuation of Uzbek citizens from Iran through the territory of Azerbaijan.
In turn, the President of Azerbaijan conveyed sincere gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the friendly conversation and support during this difficult time.
