The “Study in Uzbekistan” exhibition will present new educational opportunities in Uzbekistan to Pakistani youth for the first time
Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev met with the Minister of State for Education and Professional Training of Pakistan Wajiha Qamar.
During the meeting, prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan in the field of education, exchange of experience in training professional personnel and deepening academic cooperation between higher educational institutions of the two countries were considered.
Wajeeha Qamar warmly recalled her visit to Uzbekistan at the head of the Pakistani delegation at the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference.
“I took part in a number of sessions of the UNESCO General Conference, but the conference held in Samarkand was radically different from the previous ones, both in content and in organization. The 43rd session was not just a discussion between representatives of different countries, but rather a solemn event. In other words, no one felt tired of negotiations and work, on the contrary, every day was productive and interesting in its own way. I am confident that any country or member of an international organization that visited Uzbekistan as part of this prestigious event will confirm my opinion,” she said.
Wadjiha Kamar also said that during her visit to Uzbekistan she exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation with representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction, and also got acquainted with the activities of the Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages.
The representative of Pakistan was informed in detail about the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in recent years to provide higher education to the younger generation, improve the quality of education, introduce advanced foreign experience, train young specialists in modern professions and improve their professional skills.
In addition, the parties exchanged views on the creation of a branch of the Tashkent State medical university in Pakistan or organizing a joint educational program, supplying qualified personnel from Pakistan for the textile industry of Uzbekistan, holding the “Study in Uzbekistan” exhibition and other issues.
