Issues of construction of the massif and park “New Uzbekistan” were discussed in Islamabad
Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev met with the general manager of the Pakistani company “Habib Rafiq Pvt. Ltd" Aslam Malik.
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the prospects for cooperation with this company and the possibilities for implementing joint projects.
Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev spoke about the key elements of the investment climate of Uzbekistan, the existing free economic zones, the “New Uzbekistan” massifs being built in the country and the “New Tashkent” project. He also emphasized the conditions created for foreign investors in Uzbekistan - tax and customs benefits, a flexible policy of preferential financing, the possibility of using infrastructure, administrative support for projects at the government level, as well as the favorable geographical location of the country and its integration into Euro-Asia transport routes.
In turn, Aslam Malik noted that the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan create extremely favorable conditions for foreign investors, especially in the construction and infrastructure sectors. According to him, new opportunities for doing business, simplification of administrative procedures, expansion of guarantees and benefits for entrepreneurs are already yielding practical results.
“We are well aware of the changes in the construction industry of Uzbekistan. In recent years, the country has accumulated extensive experience in developing infrastructure, providing the population with comfortable housing and building new cities, said the general manager of Habib Rafiq Pvt. Ltd." - We are interested in studying the experience of Uzbekistan in urban planning and participating in projects. In addition, we invite Uzbek construction companies to participate in projects in Pakistan.”
The representative of Pakistan introduced the large development project “Capital Smart City”, which is being implemented on an area of 2,800 hectares near Islamabad. It was noted that residential buildings, schools, kindergartens, sports facilities, modern recreation areas and parks are being created on the territory. In addition, the construction of the Silicon Village technology town, which will become an analogue of Silicon Valley in the USA, continues.
General Manager of Habib Rafiq Pvt. Ltd" also made proposals for the construction of the "New Uzbekistan" array and park on the territory of "Capital Smart City", the company's participation in the "New Uzbekistan" and "New Tashkent" projects, organizing a visit of the company's management to Uzbekistan, as well as attracting large Uzbek construction companies to projects in Pakistan, in particular to "Capital Smart City".
Director of "Silicon Village" Abid Kabir Chima expressed high interest in establishing close ties with technology parks of Uzbekistan.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on developing a mechanism for implementing the discussed areas and projects together with the competent authorities of Uzbekistan and potential investors, organizing a working trip for the company delegation to Uzbekistan and holding negotiations with partners.
