At the invitation of the President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukha, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and his wife arrived on June 24 on a state visit to this country.

The head of our state was met by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Batmunkh Battsetseg and other officials.

The day before, a joint business forum was successfully held with the wide participation of business circles and industry departments of the two countries, a trading house with a showroom of Uzbek products was opened in the city of Ulaanbaatar.

During During the negotiations, special attention was paid to deepening economic cooperation.

There was significant potential for a multiple increase in mutual trade in the coming years, primarily due to the expansion of the range and volumes of supplies of in-demand products.

For these purposes, the importance of accelerating the adoption of agreements on preferential trade and investment protection was emphasized.

The head of our state advocated deepening industrial cooperation in specific sectors of the economy. A number of promising areas of interaction have been identified as priorities.

First of all, this is partnership in the extractive sector, including the development of a geological exploration program, development of deposits of raw materials, technology transfer, exchange of experience and personnel training.

In this context, the opening of a representative office of the Ministry of Geology of Uzbekistan in the city of Ulaanbaatar was noted with satisfaction in order to promote projects in this industry.

Interest was expressed in deepening comprehensive cooperation in agriculture through the creation of joint clusters and promotion of cooperation projects in the processing and production of meat, dairy, wool and leather goods products.

Special attention is paid to strengthening transport connectivity and developing new logistics routes. Plans are outlined to launch direct flights between the capitals by the end of the year.

It is proposed to conduct applied research to determine the shortest and most efficient transport corridors together with the International Analytical Institute for Landlocked Countries.

The importance of continuing active cultural and humanitarian exchanges is emphasized. It was noted with satisfaction that these days the city of Ulaanbaatar is hosting the Days of Uzbek Culture, events in the field of art and tourism.

An agreement was reached on the active development of cooperation between higher educational institutions, the resumption of education in universities of Uzbekistan for Mongolian youth within the framework of allocated quotas.

Acceptance was agreed upon "road map" for the timely and high-quality implementation of the agreements reached.

- Protocol on cooperation between the archival departments of the two countries;

- cooperation programs between the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Economy and Development of Mongolia, between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2026-2027, between the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia for 2025-2028;

- Cooperation plan between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia for expansion of cooperation in the field of agriculture;

- Action plan between the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia in the field of ecotourism.

The Leader of Uzbekistan emphasized that one of the key results of the visit was the signing of an important document - the Joint Declaration on a comprehensive partnership, which launches a new stage in Uzbek-Mongolian cooperation.

It was stated that during the negotiations all the main issues and promising areas of practical interaction were thoroughly considered, specific tasks and plans for the future were identified.

It was stated that after last year’s summit in Tashkent, contacts in all areas intensified. In February of this year, the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission was fruitful.

It was agreed to continue close work and mutual support within the framework of the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other multilateral structures.

According to the President of Uzbekistan, the main attention during the negotiations was paid to economic cooperation. Tasks have been set for a multiple increase in trade volumes in the coming years, primarily through expanding the range and volumes of supplies of in-demand products. It was noted with satisfaction that on the eve of the visit, a business forum and meetings of entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan and Mongolia were successfully held, new contracts and agreements were signed. The heads of state agreed to continue to create all conditions for business and support their business initiatives in every possible way.

In this context, agreements were reached on the adoption as soon as possible of agreements on preferential trade and mutual protection of investments.

In addition, during the negotiations, specific areas of industrial cooperation were identified in sectors where the economies of the two countries can effectively complement each other.

We are talking about the implementation of projects in the field of extraction and processing of mineral resources, agriculture, livestock, cooperation in light industry, including deep processing of wool, leather and many other areas.

As landlocked countries, it was agreed on the joint development of effective transport routes, with the wide involvement of experts. It was noted that direct flights between the capitals will be launched starting this fall.

An agreement was reached to continue active exchanges in the fields of culture, education and tourism. These days, Ulaanbaatar is hosting the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan, meetings of tourism organizations of the two countries.

The parties agreed to hold mutual concerts, exhibitions, film screenings, and participate in festivals on a regular basis.

The head of our state also expressed readiness to resume the education of Mongolian youth in leading universities of Uzbekistan within the framework of allocated quotas.

It was emphasized that for the timely and high-quality implementation of the agreements reached and signed agreements, the governments of the two countries will adopt a comprehensive “road map.”
