Pakistani media: Uzbekistan’s active participation in the C5+1 format is consistent with the policy of deepening bilateral partnership with the United States
Leading Pakistani media published a series of articles on Uzbek-American bilateral relations during the working visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Washington.
In particular, the Pakistani magazine "Margalla Tribune", the newspaper "Daily Spokesman" and the news platform "World News" published an article entitled "Uzbekistan - USA: strategic partnership as a driver of interregional cooperation."
"The "C5+1" format, launched in Samarkand in November 2015, has become important a mechanism for cooperation and coordination in issues of regional development, economic stability, ecology, energy and security. Its main goal is to establish a permanent diplomatic dialogue, exchange views on current issues, strengthen transport and energy interconnections,” Pakistani media write.
The publications especially emphasize that Uzbekistan’s active participation in the C5+1 format is consistent with the policy of deepening bilateral partnership with the United States. Cooperation is developing dynamically in all areas, including politics, security, economics, science and culture.
Pakistani publications also note that the United States supports Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization. As reported, in December 2024, a Protocol was signed on the completion of bilateral negotiations on Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO. This is an important step towards the integration of our country into the world trading system.
“The United States consistently supports the internal reforms carried out in Uzbekistan. Reports from the US State Department and the US Department of Labor highlight achievements in combating human trafficking and eliminating the worst forms of child labor. Uzbek cotton was excluded from the list of goods associated with child labor,” sources state.
Pakistani media, summarizing, write that the working visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States and his participation in the C5+1 summit gave a powerful impetus to the acceleration of practical projects in bilateral and multilateral areas.
