Representatives of Uzbekistan’s Mass Media Visit the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan

Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Alisher Tokhtaev received members of a delegation comprising representatives of Uzbekistan’s leading mass media outlets, who are currently in Pakistan on a working visit.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the National News Agency of Uzbekistan, the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan, the “O‘zbekiston-24,” “Mening yurtim,” and “Renessans TV” television channels, leading online media outlets such as “Daryo.uz” and “Xabar.uz,” as well as independent journalists, YouTube bloggers, influencers, and social media activists.

At the beginning of the meeting, the participants were provided with detailed information on the current state of strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan and the prospects for bringing bilateral ties to a new level.

In particular, it was emphasized that the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Pakistan on February 5–6 this year was of significant political importance in elevating bilateral relations to a qualitatively higher level. It was noted that the agreements reached during the visit are further enriching the strategic partnership between the two countries with practical substance.

The meeting also addressed the work being carried out by the Embassy to ensure the practical implementation of the priority tasks identified and agreements reached following the visit.

“We have been set clear tasks to expand trade, economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, intensify contacts between entrepreneurs of the two countries, and establish interregional cooperation,” Ambassador A. Tokhtaev said. “The diplomatic mission has developed a clear action plan and roadmaps across all areas to ensure their timely implementation.”

Strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries, as well as implementing joint projects in education, information technology, and tourism, was also highlighted as one of the promising areas of bilateral cooperation.

In particular, it was noted that eight flights are currently operated between the two countries every week. As a result of these opportunities, nearly 20,000 Pakistani citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes in 2025.

During the meeting, proposals were put forward to establish creative cooperation between the mass media of Pakistan and Uzbekistan, organize journalist exchanges and visits, and conduct master classes, seminars, and training sessions on topical issues, among other initiatives.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the media representatives received detailed answers from the head of the diplomatic mission to their questions of interest.
