The results of the year in the textile industry and priority tasks for the future are considered
On December 23, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the presentation on the results of 2025 and priority tasks for the next year in the textile industry.

There was an increase in exports compared to last year – its volume amounted to $2.5 billion. The population employed in this industry has reached 623 thousand people. It was noted that there is an opportunity to increase this figure to 650 thousand people next year.
In 2026, it is planned to further deepen the processing of cotton fiber and increase the level of capacity utilization for the production of fabrics, knitwear and finished products. The goal is to increase production volume to 147 trillion soums, and exports to $3.3 billion.
It is planned to attract $2.2 billion of foreign investment into the industry. As a result, additional capacity will be created for the production of 207 thousand tons of synthetic and mixed yarn, 397 million square meters of fabrics, 224 million units of sewing and knitting products, as well as for the dyeing of 108 million square meters of textiles.

In particular, it is planned to allocate preferential loans to enterprises in the amount of $200 million to replenish working capital, carry out financial rehabilitation of 138 enterprises, and also attract 100 new enterprises to export activities.
Particular attention will be paid to the implementation of international standards and certificates. “Better Work”, “BCI”, “FWF”, “Organic EU” programs will be implemented at 60 enterprises, and international financial reporting standards will be implemented at another 15 enterprises. In addition, a modern textile laboratory will be created, capable of analyzing the quality of finished products in 24 areas.
Through the introduction of ERP systems and artificial intelligence technologies, it is planned to accelerate digitalization and increase production efficiency in the industry. This process will cover 40 enterprises.
As part of the expansion of international cooperation, plans have been developed to strengthen interaction with international sourcing companies and large brands, participate in marketing research and international exhibitions, as well as stimulate the relocation of foreign enterprises.
Having approved the proposed approaches, the head of our state set specific tasks for responsible persons to consistently increase the share of finished products. products, reducing their cost, as well as fully utilizing the investment and export potential of the light industry. It was emphasized that all measures taken should contribute to the transformation of the industry into a sustainable and competitive system producing products with high added value.
