Products produced in Uzbekistan must be competitive abroad
The enterprise, which began its activities with the assembly of several types of household appliances from imported components, has now become one of the largest companies in Central Asia, occupying a strong position in the production of refrigerators, gas stoves, mini-ovens, vacuum cleaners, hoods and other household products, as well as modern metal doors.
Products produced here labeled “Made in Uzbekistan” are exported to Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan under brands such as “Dorsa”, “Kleo” and “Ferre”. The “Ferre” trademark has occupied a strong niche in a highly competitive environment in the domestic market. Now the annual capacity of the enterprise averages 250 thousand units of products worth about 440 billion soums, and this figure continues to grow every year.
The production process uses materials and components from leading global companies such as “Embraco”, “LG”, “DOW”, “Midea”. To date, the level of localization of the enterprise's products is almost 85 percent.
The total cost of the project was thirty million US dollars, foreign investments and preferential bank loans were attracted. About a thousand jobs were created. Production equipment includes the latest technologies from Germany, Turkey, Italy and China.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the production process, talked with company managers and specialists, emphasizing the need to expand the range of products that meet international standards and further strengthen its position in foreign markets. It was noted that it is important to effectively use the opportunities and benefits provided by the state.
It was noted that entrepreneurs creating their own brands and promoting domestic goods on the world market will receive constant support. They create added value and provide permanent income to thousands of people.
– Without the support of entrepreneurs, it is impossible to build a New Uzbekistan. If you develop tirelessly, there will be no people living in poverty in Samarkand. By being active, you have the opportunity to announce Uzbekistan on the world stage,” the President said.
The head of our state emphasized the importance of creating added value and opening new jobs by increasing the number of similar manufacturing enterprises in the Urgut free economic zone and gave appropriate instructions to those in charge.
Here the President got acquainted with investment projects and the exhibition of leading products industrial enterprises of the Samarkand region.
The presentation provided information on a number of projects in the fields of healthcare, mining, production of building materials, technology parks, sericulture and metallurgy.
In Samarkand, together with prestigious Turkish companies, a project is being implemented on the basis of public-private partnership to organize a multidisciplinary medical institution. As part of this project, 1 thousand jobs will be created.
In the Bulungur region it is planned to launch the production of medical drugs together with a Chinese company. This project will provide employment for about 1 thousand more people.
In addition, Chinese companies presented projects for the production of silk thread and fabrics in the Urgut region, the creation of a specialized industrial zone of a technology park in the Nurabad region, the production of chemical alloys for steel melting in Samarkand, as well as the production of mobile structures in the Pastdargom region.
Responsible persons were given appropriate instructions for timely, high-quality and efficient implementation of projects.
