The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Slovakia discussed issues of further strengthening strategic partnership relations
On October 30, on the sidelines of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand, negotiations between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Slovak Republic took place Peter Pellegrini.
Current aspects of further expansion of the strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Slovakia were considered.
The positive dynamics of bilateral exchanges at all levels, as well as the strengthening of interaction in priority areas, were noted with satisfaction.
This year was successful Political consultations and the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission were held. Business contacts have intensified. The number of joint ventures increased threefold.
Issues of increasing trade turnover and investment, as well as expanding industrial cooperation projects in key industries were discussed.
An agreement was reached to increase supplies from Uzbekistan of textiles, leather, fruits and vegetables and other popular products, from Slovakia - rubber, auto components, pharmaceuticals and other industrial products. For these purposes, it is planned to hold exhibitions of national products and open trading houses.
Special emphasis is placed on the development of digitalization. It was proposed to work on the creation of a joint center for monitoring the cybersecurity of banks and the introduction of advanced systems for tracking cargo transportation.
The readiness to further increase interaction with Slovak business in the production of auto components, finished dairy products and other areas was confirmed.
The prospects for intensifying humanitarian and educational exchanges were considered. It is proposed to hold the first forum of rectors of the two countries in Bratislava in 2026, organize tourism exhibitions and mutual Tourism Days. The topic of establishing organized labor migration was touched upon.
An exchange of views took place on issues of mutual support at multilateral platforms, as well as on the current regional and international agenda.
