The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan noted the successful results of the negotiations
Following the results of fruitful negotiations at the Kuksaroy residence, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made statements for representatives of the media information.
The head of our state noted with deep satisfaction that the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan became a historical event and marked an important milestone in the development of Uzbek-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and alliance.
During the visit, the second meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council was held, where key aspects of the bilateral agenda were discussed.
Priority attention was paid to issues of economic cooperation. It was noted that Kazakhstan is one of the important trading partners of Uzbekistan.
Since the beginning of the year, trade turnover has increased by 15 percent and reached almost $4 billion. Comprehensive work is underway to increase its volume to $10 billion by 2030. An important event of the visit was the opening of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation "Central Asia".
This flagship project is aimed at deepening cooperation ties between our countries and the formation of modern value chains.
New projects in priority areas with a total value of $1.3 billion were also launched.
In addition, key directions for the development of transport interconnectivity were discussed in detail. It was agreed to jointly develop modern transport corridors, increase the efficiency of border infrastructure, and stimulate transportation, including through the ports of Aktau and Kuryk.
The strategic direction defines cooperation in the energy sector, including the promotion of joint projects of traditional and alternative energy.
The parties will also develop cooperation in the field of environmental protection and rational water use, primarily in the Central Asian region.
Important attention is paid to the development of cultural and humanitarian ties. This year, a show of the ballet “Lazgi”, an exhibition of artists, a forum of writers and a youth festival were held with great success in Almaty and Astana. The Days of Medicine of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan aroused wide interest and warm response from our citizens.
An agreement was reached to intensify exchanges between scientific and educational institutions, creative and youth organizations, as well as expand joint programs in the field of tourism.
The parties once again expressed their commitment to further strengthening regional cooperation. In this context, the key role of the format of the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia was noted.
It was especially emphasized that the seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, upcoming tomorrow in Tashkent, will give new impetus to the processes of regional integration and strengthening of unity throughout Central Asia.
The importance of continuing mutual support at multilateral platforms, including the United Nations, SCO, CIS, Organizations was noted Turkic states, “Central Asia Plus” formats.
– The visit of the respected Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich once again clearly confirmed the high level of allied relations between our countries, noted the leader of our country.
In conclusion, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed confidence that the agreements reached and signed will fill the bilateral partnership with concrete content, open new horizons for joint projects and create a solid foundation for the sustainable development of fraternal states.
