The presidents of Uzbekistan and Finland discussed prospects for expanding multifaceted cooperation
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly greeted the distinguished guest and invited him to climb to the pedestal.
The national anthems of Uzbekistan and Finland were played. The heads of state walked around the guard of honor and introduced each other to the members of the official delegations.
After the completion of the ceremony and joint photography, high-level negotiations began with the participation of the delegations.

Negotiations of the President of the Republic took place at the Kuksaroy residence Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb with the participation of official delegations.
The prospects for further strengthening the Uzbek-Finnish multifaceted interaction, primarily in the political, trade-economic, investment and humanitarian spheres were substantively considered.
The dynamic development of the political dialogue and exchanges at different levels, as well as intensification of business contacts.
The volume of mutual trade is consistently growing, economic and business ties are strengthening. In our country, in cooperation with Finland, the Nordic University successfully operates, and programs in the field of school education are being implemented.
As a result of the Uzbek-Finnish business forum held today, a portfolio of promising joint projects worth over 1 billion euros has been formed.
The negotiations considered opportunities for a multiple increase in trade turnover, including through the creation of a joint Trade Finance Fund to stimulate mutual supplies.
Initiatives were supported to open certification laboratories to promote Uzbek agricultural and textile products to the markets of the European Union.
Priority attention is paid to expanding cooperation in key industries such as geology and critical materials, energy, the agricultural sector, digitalization, artificial intelligence, ecology, tourism and other areas.
An agreement has been reached to hold the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in 2026 and to establish a Business Council. Mutual interest was expressed in expanding interregional cooperation.
Issues of cooperation in the fields of education, medicine and labor migration were also considered. Next year, it is planned to hold the first forum of rectors and innovations.
The presidents exchanged views on current issues of the regional and international agenda.

Following the results of the negotiations held in the city of Tashkent, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Finland, Alexander Stubb, signed a Joint Statement.
In the presence of the leaders, a ceremony was also held to sign a package of bilateral documents, including those providing for:
- development of trade and economic relations;
- cooperation in the field of mining;
- cooperation in the field of geological sciences, geological exploration, mineral exploration, groundwater and mining;
- promoting the development of digital transformation, innovation and digital interconnectedness;
- cooperation in the field of social protection;
- cooperation on the implementation of a digital educational platform in the system of preschool and school education;
- cooperation in the field of education, science and innovation;
- increasing scientific and educational potential in the field of digitalization and water management resources;
- cooperation in the field of climate change and environmental protection.

At the end of the Uzbek-Finnish summit, a tree planting ceremony was held at the Kuksaroy residence.
Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Alexander Stubb planted a spruce tree together on the Alley of Honored Guests.
The ceremony became a symbol of mutual determination to strengthen multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Finland, ties of friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries and peoples.
