The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of expanding the strategic partnership
On November 17, at the Kuksaroy residence, negotiations were held between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in narrow format.
It was emphasized that the current state visit will be an important step towards further strengthening
Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership, which have become exemplary in recent years.
The positive dynamics and active contacts in all directions were noted with satisfaction. Meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council and cultural events are held regularly. On the eve of the visit, the Days of Culture and cinema screenings of Turkmenistan were held in Urgench and Tashkent with great furor.
Last year, trade turnover exceeded $1 billion. The volume of cargo transportation is growing, including through the port of Turkmenbashi.
Particular attention is paid to increasing mutual trade, promoting effective cooperation in industry, energy, transport, mechanical engineering, agriculture and water management.
The importance of further expanding interregional exchanges was noted. An agreement was reached to hold the third Forum of Regions in the city of Khiva.
Views were also exchanged on issues of the regional and international agenda.
