The Presidents of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan were awarded the Leo Tolstoy International Peace Prize
As part of the activities of the working visit to the Russian Federation at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, a ceremony was held to present the Leo Tolstoy International Peace Prize to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
The high award was presented in the presence of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin by the chairman of the jury of the international award, artistic director and general director Mariinsky Theater, General Director of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, conductor Valery Gergiev.
The leaders of the three countries were awarded an honorary award for their great personal contribution to strengthening peace and security in the Central Asian region.
The decision of the jury notes that on March 31, 2025, in the city of Khujand, the heads of the three states signed the Treaty on the Junction of State Borders and the Khujand Declaration of Eternal Friendship and thereby made a significant contribution to ensuring universal and equal security based on the supremacy of international law, strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation between peoples.
It is noted that the awarded prize symbolizes commitment to the ideals of humanism and is considered as recognition of the overall contribution to the formation of Central Asia as a space of peace, prosperity and creation. It was emphasized that the opening of a new page in the relations between fraternal Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan became possible thanks to the political will and desire of the peoples of the three countries for trust and good neighborliness.
