The President of Uzbekistan spoke in favor of further building up the Uzbek-Saudi business partnership
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the heads of leading companies in Saudi Arabia on October 15.
The event was attended by the Kingdom's Minister of Investment Khalid al-Falih, heads of leading companies
and corporations, including Acwa Power, Al Muhaidib Group, Vision Invest, Data Volt, Riyadh Cables, AlMajdiah, InterHealth, Saudi Tabreed, AlBawani Holding, Miahona, Pemco and many others.
In At the beginning of the meeting, the head of our state emphasized that thanks to the joint efforts of the leaders of the two states, in recent years, the Uzbek-Saudi relations of multifaceted partnership have reached the highest level.
The total portfolio of joint projects exceeded $27 billion. Moreover, only since the beginning of this year, our country has disbursed 2 billion dollars of Saudi investments. The volume of mutual trade is growing steadily. The frequency of flights exceeded 60 times a week.
It was especially noted that today the foundation stone will be laid for a historic project - the construction of a new international airport in Tashkent, which will be another clear evidence of a fruitful and long-term partnership between the two countries.
– We highly appreciate the significant contribution of our Saudi partners to economic transformation and development Uzbekistan,” the President emphasized.
Then the leader of Uzbekistan outlined priority areas for further cooperation, noting the special importance of projects in the energy sector.
Today, ACWA Power is implementing projects worth $15 billion in our country, including the construction of wind and solar power plants in the regions, the development of “green” hydrogen.
The widespread use of products from national manufacturers in the implementation of such projects will give an additional impetus to the development of the country's industrial potential.
Special attention is paid to strengthening cooperation in the field of information technology and artificial intelligence. The Data Volt company is successfully implementing a project to create a modern data center in Tashkent. They expressed readiness to support similar centers in New Tashkent and Bukhara, as well as the participation of other Saudi companies in digital initiatives.
It was noted that Uzbekistan has significant reserves of tungsten, molybdenum, magnesium, lithium, graphite, titanium and other strategically important minerals. In the Tashkent and Samarkand regions, it is planned to create a “Technological Park of Metals of the Future”, where the production of products with high added value will be established.
In this regard, the leader of our country invited Saudi investors to actively participate in projects of the full production cycle - from geological exploration and extraction of raw materials to processing and production of finished products.
In the field of infrastructure, it was noted successful cooperation with the Miahona company on wastewater treatment projects in Fergana and Jizzakh, the development of water supply systems and the modernization of pumping stations in Karakalpakstan.
An agreement was also reached with the Saudi Tabreed company on the development of the public utilities sector.
The President invited companies of the Kingdom to actively participate in new mutually beneficial projects aimed to modernize infrastructure and improve the quality of life of the population.
In turn, representatives of leading business circles of Saudi Arabia, highly appreciating the economic policy, sustainable growth and favorable investment climate of New Uzbekistan, announced plans to further deepen mutually beneficial partnerships and promote specific projects and programs in our country.
