The President of Uzbekistan received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received on August 27 a delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Takeshi Iwai, who is in our country on official visit.
The distinguished guest conveyed sincere greetings and congratulations to the head of our state from the Prime Minister of Japan Shigeru Ishiba on the occasion of the Independence Day of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-Japanese strategic partnership relations and building up multifaceted cooperation were discussed.
The ongoing active contacts and the dynamic development of practical interaction were noted with particular satisfaction. The fruitful results of the first meeting of the Strategic Dialogue of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the two countries held today were highly appreciated.
The volume of trade turnover is growing, large investment projects are being implemented with the participation of leading Japanese companies. On August 17, the events of the National Day of Uzbekistan were successfully held at the World Exhibition “EXPO 2025” in the city of Osaka.
Particular attention was paid to deepening the political dialogue, promoting specific projects of trade-economic, investment, financial-technical and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.
Plans to expand activities were supported The Uzbek-Japanese Center and the creation in the future of a joint university on its basis with the participation of leading Japanese universities.
There was also an exchange of views on the international and regional agenda, including the holding of the upcoming summit in the “Central Asia + Japan” format.
