The President of Uzbekistan noted the priorities of partnership with the World Bank
Issues of further expanding the strategic partnership with the World Bank were considered, primarily in the fight against poverty - the first Sustainable Development Goal.
The highest level of practical interaction achieved with this global financial institution was noted with deep satisfaction.
The Country Program is being successfully implemented. Uzbekistan is one of the bank’s leading partners in the macroregion. The project portfolio exceeded $14 billion.
With the active support of the World Bank, a methodology for determining the poverty level has been developed. Currently, a joint diagnosis of poverty and equality indicators in Uzbekistan is being carried out.
It is proposed to prepare a joint project within the framework of the program “From Poverty to Prosperity”, including practical measures to create jobs for women and youth, modernize the social infrastructure of cities and villages, and develop tourism.
Particular attention is paid to the promotion of private sector projects, development medium-term development programs, conducting a population census and other priority areas.
