The President inspected the construction of educational and enlightenment institutions
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the construction progress of the buildings of the New Uzbekistan University and the National Library of Uzbekistan in New Tashkent.
Among the priority tasks in our country are the development of strategic sectors of the economy on a scientific basis, the expansion of innovation and the production of products with high added value. This process, first of all, is inextricably linked with the training of qualified personnel with modern knowledge and practical skills.
For this purpose, according to the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 23, 2021, the “New Uzbekistan” University was created.
A new university complex in New Tashkent, the initial cost of which is 200 million dollars, will occupy an area of 50 hectares.
The project was developed in collaboration with Turkish specialists by order of the Directorate for the Construction of New Tashkent. Construction work is carried out by the company “Özgüven”. Commissioning of the university complex is scheduled for 2027.
The complex will house 5 faculties for 10 thousand students, the rector’s office, a library with more than 1,000 seats, a museum, an exhibition hall and multimedia rooms. Also, a sports complex with 1,000 seats, residential buildings with a capacity of 2,000 people, a swimming pool and canteens will be built for students and teachers.
Currently, construction work is being carried out in three stages. The head of our state paid special attention to the main parameters of the project, infrastructure and conditions created for the educational process. The importance of such modern educational institutions for the realization of the scientific and intellectual potential of young people is especially emphasized.
– The creative work carried out at this university, as well as the educational programs implemented here, should become a model for other higher educational institutions, - emphasized the head of our state.
Responsible persons were given instructions for the gradual renovation and equipment of other universities, as well as for the widespread introduction of advanced technologies into the educational process.
Also, on an area of about 4 hectares, work is underway to construct a new building for the National Library of Uzbekistan. The building was designed with a combination of national architecture traditions and modern architectural solutions.
The total area of the four-story building is more than 30 thousand square meters and will allow simultaneous service of 1,420 readers. Special high-tech premises will be created for storage, accounting, security and sterilization of library collections.
The complex will be multifunctional and provide online access to electronic databases of the largest international and national libraries. A special environment for reading and research will be created for citizens with visual impairments. A cafe with 300 seats, a gallery, sports grounds and recreation areas will also be built for visitors.
The President emphasized that this library will take an important place among the educational and educational centers being created in New Tashkent and will become a solid basis for the intellectual development of the younger generation. It is noted that a state that invests in science and education will have high economic potential.
The importance of employees' deep mastery of information technologies and international standards for the effective use of the capabilities of a modern library is emphasized.
