The President got acquainted with modern projects in the field of road construction, energy and urban planning
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived on a working trip to the Jizzakh region on December 2.
At the beginning of the visit, the head of state got acquainted with work to create a modern and convenient road infrastructure.
In order to connect the regional center with the international highway M-39, a new overpass with a length of 700 meters and a 4-kilometer road were built at the expense of almost 290 billion soums. The new road is capable of handling over 14 thousand vehicles per day.
Previously, residents had to use a 25-kilometer detour to enter and leave the city. Thanks to the new facility, the distance has been reduced to 4 kilometers, and the problem of congestion on the old section has been resolved. This is important not only for drivers, but also for entrepreneurs, logistics and the service industry.
The overpass, built using modern technology from metal structures, is designed for 100 years of operation. By comparison, traditional reinforced concrete structures usually last about 50 years, that is, the service life is doubled.
Another important aspect of the project was the elimination of the need to block the movement of cars when passing passenger and freight trains. The construction of the overpass significantly facilitates the movement of vehicles, including special vehicles - ambulances, firefighters and operational services.
Here, the President was presented with information on the implementation of nuclear energy projects.
Currently, the construction of an integrated nuclear power plant has begun in the Jizzakh region, including two low-power and two large reactors.
At the current stage, active work is underway to dig pits for reactor buildings. At the same time, the construction base is being prepared: leveling the territory, concreting, installing reinforcement. A temporary residential complex was erected for construction workers.
Plans were presented to localize the production of building materials needed for the nuclear power plant, as well as to expand personnel training in higher educational institutions.
The concept of building a single-industry town for specialists of the future plant and their families was also shown. The town, located 16 kilometers from the station under construction, will be designed for 10 thousand residents and will include all the necessary infrastructure, social and service facilities.
The President got acquainted with the master plan and renovation projects for the entrance part of the city of Jizzakh.
As part of the renovation program, it is planned to build modern, comfortable and safe housing instead of outdated ones houses. Projects for the construction of an IT center building, a crafts center, reconstruction of individual complexes and improvement of busy streets are presented.
– The purpose of our visit to Jizzakh is to identify new growth points for the region and ensure their implementation. Today's Jizzakh is no longer the same as yesterday's. The region's potential has grown many times over, and people's attitudes towards life and work have changed significantly. We need to direct these opportunities to create specific projects that will serve to improve the well-being of the population,” the President noted.
Based on the results of the presentations, specific instructions were given to those in charge.
