President of Uzbekistan receives U.S. President’s Special Envoy

As part of the visit program in Bishkek, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Sergio Gor, Special Envoy of the U.S. President for South and Central Asia.

At the beginning of the meeting, Sergio Gor warmly congratulated President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence and conveyed greetings and best wishes from U.S. President Donald Trump.

The two sides discussed further strengthening the Uzbekistan-U.S. strategic partnership and the practical implementation of agreements reached at the highest level.

They expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum in political dialogue, inter-parliamentary and interregional contacts, as well as the steady expansion of trade, economic, and investment cooperation.

The importance of further promoting joint projects and initiatives in priority areas was emphasized, including energy, transport, critical minerals, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, agriculture, and other sectors.

The parties focused on thorough preparations for upcoming events within the C5+1 format and the next meeting of the Uzbekistan-U.S. Business and Investment Council.
