Plans for the development of the chemical industry were presented
On December 3, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on increasing production and exports, reducing production costs in the chemical industry.
Our country has adopted a targeted strategy for the accelerated development and digitalization of the chemical industry. It is planned to at least double production volumes by 2030, increase the output of mineral fertilizers by 1.5 times and increase export volumes to $1 billion.
Currently, the industry is implementing 21 large projects worth a total of $1 billion, and initiatives have also been prepared to implement projects worth another $4.5 billion in the next three years.
The presentation included It was noted that due to the obsolescence of part of the production capacity at large chemical industry enterprises, energy costs are increasing and the competitiveness of products is decreasing. For example, in the production of nitrogen fertilizers, such costs account for up to 55 percent of the cost.
It is emphasized that it is necessary to sharply reduce costs through the introduction of energy-saving technologies and digitalization.
The world market for chemical products is growing at a rapid pace. Despite the presence in neighboring countries of demand for products worth $1 billion and favorable conditions for logistics, this potential is not fully used.
It was noted that through deep processing of local raw materials, it is possible to develop new types of products and increase export volumes at least twice.
This year, launches were launched in the Tashkent, Navoi and Jizzakh regions projects for the production of “green” mineral fertilizers, cyanide salts, potassium xanthate, potassium sulfate and other products with high added value. It was noted that it is now necessary to consider a strategy for increasing the export of these new products.
Next year, the goal is to produce 4.5 million tons of cotton.
In this regard, the task has been set to create the necessary reserves of phosphate fertilizers, as well as to ensure the timely supply of sufficient amounts of sulfuric acid to fertilizer producers. It was noted that it is necessary to begin work as soon as possible to provide farmers with preferential loans for the purchase of fertilizers.
Stressing that the chemical industry is a strategic direction of the country's economy, the President gave specific instructions for stable provision of the domestic market, increasing export potential and creating new jobs.
