According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, during the visit, members of the “WaterCon” delegation held productive talks with the leadership of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, Ministry of Agriculture and Hokimiyat of Jizzakh Region.
During the meetings, the sides discussed opportunities for introducing modern agricultural technologies in Uzbekistan, as well as implementing investment projects in the cultivation and processing of agricultural products.
Practical outcome of the negotiations was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between “WaterCon” and Hokimiyat of Jizzakh Region.
This document provides for cooperation between the parties in implementing an investment project aimed at establishing a 500-hectare olive plantation in the Yangiabad district of Jizzakh Region, as well as cultivating and processing olive products and manufacturing finished goods.
In the subsequent stages of the project, it is planned to establish the industrial processing of olives, packaging of finished products and the export of high-value-added goods to foreign markets under the “Made in Uzbekistan” brand.
Following the visit, parties outlined the next steps for cooperation in conducting the necessary organizational and pre-project work, developing the relevant infrastructure, establishing the olive plantation and processing products required for the implementation of the project.
