Pakistani media: Air service between Tashkent and Islamabad is a bridge of friendship connecting peoples, cultures and economies
Leading Pakistani media are widely covering the importance of opening a second direct flight between Tashkent and Islamabad.
In particular, Islamabad Post, Diplomatic News Agency (DNA), Pakistan Today, Pakistan in the World and DAWN published a series of articles dedicated to the opening of a second air route connecting the capitals of Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
They note that the national airline Uzbekistan Airways has begun operating four flights a week between Uzbekistan and Pakistan from October 28 this year.
According to Pakistani media, the decision to increase the number of flights between our countries is due to high passenger demand, since previous flights to Islamabad were often fully loaded, and tickets were sold out in a few days.
Flights on the Tashkent-Islamabad-Tashkent route are operated twice a day week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and Tashkent-Lahore-Tashkent on Wednesdays and Fridays. “With this expansion, Uzbekistan Airways will strengthen its role as a key bridge between Central and South Asia, providing Pakistani travelers with more options, comfort and connections to destinations around the world,” the articles said.
It is noted that passengers flying through Tashkent can take advantage of convenient transit flights to Istanbul, Frankfurt, Paris, London, New York, Moscow, Dubai, Tokyo, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Baku, Astana, Batumi and many other major cities of the world.
Uzbekistan and Pakistan are connected by centuries-old historical, cultural and spiritual ties based on the Great Silk Road and the heritage of Islamic civilization. Expanding air connectivity will further promote tourism, trade and exchanges between the two brotherly nations.
It will also provide Pakistani travelers with easy access to Uzbekistan's legendary Silk Road cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Kokand. These ancient cities are famous for their magnificent Islamic architecture, bazaars and shared cultural heritage.
Pakistani media conclude the articles by noting that these flights will open a new chapter in Uzbek-Pakistani relations, turning common aspirations into real cooperation. Routes are more than just flights - they are bridges of friendship, connecting families, cultures and economies across borders."
