On June 24, 2026, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mirvokhid Azimov held a meeting with Aleksei Erkhov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of Uzbek-Russian strategic partnership and alliance relations, as well as prospects for their further development.
Particular attention was paid to expanding practical cooperation, including increasing mutual trade and investment, broadening industrial cooperation, strengthening interregional ties, promoting tourism exchanges, and implementing joint projects in priority sectors of the economy.
The parties also exchanged views on cooperation within international and regional organizations, including the UN, SCO, and CIS.
