The work done and future tasks in the space sector were discussed
On October 16, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the presentation of proposals to identify new economic opportunities using space monitoring.
In recent years, the use of aerospace data in various sectors of the economy has been actively expanding in our country. In particular, the Presidential decree signed on September 30 of this year brought this work to a qualitatively new stage. According to the document, the Uzcosmos Agency under the Ministry of Digital Technologies will conduct state space monitoring in the areas of geology, land relations and ecology at least three times a year. The positions of territorial representatives of the agency have also been introduced.
As noted during the presentation, today the main task is to use space analysis to identify new opportunities that can give a powerful impetus to economic development.
Hundreds of mineral deposits and quarries are put up for auction in the republic every year. Conditions have been created for entrepreneurs to introduce modern industrial methods of subsoil development. Last year alone, 170 deposits were sold at auction, and since the beginning of this year - another 172.
At the same time, it was emphasized that cases of illegal use of subsoil remain. Since the beginning of the year, more than 2 thousand such facts have been identified with the help of space monitoring.
The Prosecutor General's Office has been tasked with the effective use of satellite analysis data of land, production facilities and deposits in the prevention and timely detection of economic crimes.
In recent years, cadastral registration has been issued for 1 million 365 thousand unauthorized residential buildings. However, it has not yet been possible to completely eliminate the problem of illegal construction: since the beginning of the year, more than 33 thousand such objects have been identified, a significant part of them are located on agricultural lands.
In this regard, it was instructed to integrate existing information platforms as soon as possible and create a system that allows you to quickly respond to cases of illegal construction.
Particular attention is paid to the issues of identifying unused land plots using space monitoring and involving them in economic turnover. Based on the results of an analysis carried out in six regions, about 300 hectares of vacant land were discovered. In Tashkent alone, 95 hectares have been identified, which have already been put up for auction.
The head of state instructed to complete research in eight more regions by the end of the year, and next year to cover all regional centers of the country.
The importance of the active implementation of international experience and advanced technological solutions was noted. Responsible persons presented information on projects involving the use of artificial intelligence to analyze space data in order to detect illegal cutting of trees, methane leaks, study the efficiency of solar panels, determine the condition of road surfaces, faults and overloads on railway and electrical networks.
The presentation also discussed proposals for creating an educational ecosystem in the space sector, developing research and technology, as well as expanding communication coverage in remote areas of the country over through the introduction of satellite telecommunications.
Instructions were given for thorough preparations for the International Astronautics Congress, which will be held in Samarkand in 2028.
