Meeting with the Deputy Chairman of Türkiye’s Justice and Development Party
On July 8, 2026, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mirvokhid Azimov met with Deputy Chairman of Türkiye’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Parti), Turkologist and Professor Kurshad Zorlu, who is visiting Tashkent to participate in the First International Islamic Civilization Forum.
On July 8, 2026, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mirvokhid Azimov met with Deputy Chairman of Türkiye’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Parti), Turkologist and Professor Kurshad Zorlu, who is visiting Tashkent to participate in the First International Islamic Civilization Forum.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on further developing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Türkiye.
The sides discussed priority areas of bilateral cooperation, as well as prospects for strengthening cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States and advancing joint initiatives.
The importance of implementing new joint projects and further enhancing practical cooperation in the fields of culture, education, science, and tourism was also emphasized.
The parties reviewed preparations for the Organization of Turkic States Summit to be held in Türkiye later this year.
