On September 5, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the United States of America Donald Trump.
The practical aspects of further strengthening the Uzbek-American strategic partnership relations and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation were thoroughly considered.
At the beginning of the conversation, the President of the United States highly appreciated and supported the irreversible reforms being implemented in New Uzbekistan in recent years, aimed at modernizing the economy and improving the well-being of the population.
In turn, the head of our state sincerely congratulated President Donald Trump with impressive results in the domestic and foreign policies of the US Administration. The contribution and efforts of the American side to the peaceful resolution of international and regional conflicts, ensuring global security and stability were especially noted.
Important attention was paid to building up multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
We were talking about promoting business cooperation projects in priority sectors and dramatically increasing the volume of trade transactions.
It should be noted that in recent years there has been a steady increase in mutual trade indicators. In 2024, trade turnover increased by 15 percent.
The portfolio of promising cooperation projects covers such areas as civil aviation, critical mineral resources, electrical engineering, energy, agriculture, digital technologies, financial sector, innovation, education and many others.
It was emphasized that a number of bilateral meetings and negotiations with leading US companies and organizations will be held this month to establish long-term and sustainable partnerships.
In addition, effective cooperation in the field of security is being carried out, primarily in the fight against terrorism, extremism and illegal migration.
Expanding cultural and humanitarian exchanges, branches of leading American universities successfully operate in Tashkent.
It was noted with satisfaction that the national team of Uzbekistan will take part for the first time in the World Cup, which will be held next year in the USA. The US leader sincerely wished good luck to our football team.
During the telephone conversation, the heads of state also exchanged views on current international issues, including deepening regional cooperation between the Central Asian states and the United States in the C5+1 format.
The leader of our state invited President Donald Trump to make an official visit to Uzbekistan at a convenient time.
An agreement was reached to continue contacts at the highest level to promote projects and programs of practical interaction.
