The leaders of Uzbekistan and Pakistan discussed issues of practical implementation of agreements at the highest level
On July 4, on the sidelines of the Economic Cooperation Organization summit in Khankendi, a meeting was held between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif.
Current issues of further expansion and strengthening of the Uzbek-Pakistan strategic partnership relations based on the adopted “road map” were discussed.
Active contacts at different levels were noted with satisfaction. The volume of mutual trade, the number of joint ventures and direct flights are increasing. Trading houses have been established in Karachi and Lahore.
Particular attention was paid to accelerating projects and cooperation programs in the trade, economic, investment and transport and communications spheres, including promoting the construction of the Trans-Afghan Railway.
The importance of productive holding of the meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission planned for this year and business forum.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Pakistan also exchanged views on the international and regional agenda.
