Implementation of High-Level Agreements Between Uzbekistan and Pakistan Reviewed in Islamabad

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, the implementation of agreements reached at the highest and high levels, as well as ways to further expand cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, and transport and logistics.
Tariq Fatemi particularly emphasized that close relations have been established between Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, based on mutual trust and sincere dialogue.
«The Government of Pakistan highly values the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan as a visionary statesman whose initiatives have not only elevated his country's socio-economic development to a new stage but have also provided a strong impetus to cooperation and sustainable development across the entire Central Asian region," he said. "In this regard, the relevant institutions are taking all necessary measures to ensure the full and effective implementation of every agreement reached during the state visit of your Head of State to Pakistan on February 5–6 this year».
In this context, the two sides conducted a comprehensive review of the implementation of the bilateral documents and agreements signed during the state visit. They exchanged views on several issues arising in the course of implementation and identified practical measures to address them promptly.
The meeting also focused on further strengthening interregional cooperation, creating favorable conditions for business communities, encouraging mutual investment, implementing joint projects, and increasing bilateral trade.
The Pakistani side reaffirmed its full support for visits by delegations of regional leaders and business representatives from Uzbekistan to Pakistan, stressing the importance of increasing the number of such exchanges and enhancing their practical outcomes.
The participants also discussed the procedures for issuing the necessary permits for the export of live livestock from Pakistan to Uzbekistan, as well as the establishment of direct correspondent banking relations between the banks of the two countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue their dialogue aimed at further strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Pakistan and ensuring the full implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level.
