Report on a new metro line
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was presented with information on planned projects for the development of the Tashkent metro.
Metropolitan occupies a special place in the capital's public transport system. To improve passenger convenience, new lines are being built. The Yunusabad line has been extended to the Turkiston station, and the Chilanzar line to the Sergeli district. At the initiative of the head of state, an overground metro also appeared in Tashkent - a ring line was built from the Dustlik station to Sergeli. These new directions connected the Yunusabad, Yashnabad, Bektemir, Mirabad, Sergeli and Yangikhayot districts, creating convenience for the daily trips of citizens.
Now it is planned to extend the metro to the Tashkent Tractor Plant massif. At previous discussions, the President instructed to optimize the project in terms of costs and convenience. According to the prepared proposal, the project will be implemented in two stages. At the first stage, from the Pushkin station of the Chilanzar line to the Feruza massif in the Mirzo-Ulugbek region, an overland line will be built parallel to the existing railway tracks. At the second stage, it will be extended to the bus station on the TTZ massif.
Currently, about 47 thousand cars enter the city center from this direction every day, carrying a total of 194 thousand passengers. It is expected that the new metro line will serve 85 thousand passengers per day.
