The delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs held a number of meetings in Berlin
On February 11, a delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held a number of important meetings and negotiations with representatives of the German side in Berlin.
The visit program covered events aimed at further developing political, trade, economic and investment cooperation.
In particular, a meeting was held with the German Minister of Economics and Energy Katerina Reiche. It was noted that there are very promising dynamics in economic cooperation between the countries. It was emphasized that in recent years, trade volume has doubled, the joint investment portfolio exceeds $10 billion, and cooperation in the field of green energy, industry, critical raw materials and labor mobility is expanding. In this regard, an agreement was reached to intensify dialogue on trade and investment issues, as well as to promote specific projects within the framework of upcoming bilateral business events.
During discussions with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful, the focus on further deepening bilateral cooperation in key areas such as trade, energy and regional stability was confirmed. The importance of the upcoming summits and strengthening economic ties through initiatives such as the Uzbek-German Business Council was especially emphasized. Confidence was expressed in the further advancement of the partnership and readiness to welcome the German colleague in Tashkent in the near future.
A meeting was also held with the Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia, Eduard Stiprais. It was noted that the summits in Samarkand and Brussels marked a new stage in the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the EU. Preparations for the first Inter-Parliamentary Summit “Central Asia - EU” in Samarkand were reviewed, and the opening of the regional representative office of the European Investment Bank in Tashkent was welcomed as an important milestone in strengthening investment cooperation.
At the “Central Asia-German” business forum, it was noted that Uzbekistan is consistently carrying out large-scale reforms, creating an open, stable and investor-friendly economy. The event was assessed as an important platform that brought together like-minded people committed to creating reliable supply chains and launching new investment projects in the context of global transformation.
The significant potential for deepening cooperation in the field of green energy, mechanical engineering, electrical industry and production of building materials was highlighted. They expressed their readiness to welcome partners at the Tashkent International Investment Forum in June of this year and to continue strengthening the strategic economic partnership.
