Uzbekistan's rich culture and heritage recognized at charity fair in Islamabad
Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan took part in the Charity Bazaar charity fair, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.
This fair is regularly held with the aim of expanding cultural and humanitarian cooperation with the diplomatic corps and international organizations working in Pakistan, popularizing the rich history and cultural heritage of different peoples, as well as developing tourism interaction.
This year, the event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Islamabad, representative offices of international organizations, non-governmental non-profit organizations, as well as local artisans who presented their exposition.
The Uzbekistan Pavilion attracted the attention of participants with its national style and artistic decoration, national dishes, sweets, handicrafts, examples of folk arts and crafts, musical instruments and national costumes. Guests of the event highly appreciated the taste of Uzbek cuisine - pilaf, manti, samsa, lagman, halva, chak-chak and others.
The sound of Uzbek national music gave the event a special charm. The “Andijan Polka” and “Lyazgi” dances delighted the residents and guests of Islamabad.
About 15 thousand guests of the event, including organizers, representatives of diplomatic missions and local media, highly appreciated the Uzbek pavilion. They especially noted the unique historical and cultural heritage of our people, the sophistication of handmade products and the incomparable taste of national cuisine.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan Ishaq Dar attended the event as a guest of honor and toured the Uzbek pavilion. He noted that he was deeply impressed by the rich heritage of the Uzbek people, the originality of the national cuisine, and emphasized the importance of such events for cultural diplomacy and bilateral cooperation.
– Uzbekistan and Pakistan are closely connected by common historical and cultural roots, said the head of the Pakistani Foreign Ministry. – Such festivals bring our peoples, especially young people, closer together, introducing them to common history and values. Moreover, such events promote moving forward in a spirit of friendship and cooperation. I would like to express my gratitude to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan for their wonderful participation in this festival and presentation of the rich culture and values of the Uzbek people.
It is worth noting that the ambassadors of Turkey, China, Malaysia, Tunisia, Azerbaijan, Vietnam, Turkmenistan, Czech Republic, Indonesia, Palestine, Syria, Japan, Philippines, Morocco, Yemen, UAE and others countries in Pakistan, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the host country, representatives of international organizations also visited the Uzbekistan pavilion and highly appreciated it.
Hamid Mahmud, Ambassador of Tourism of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, emphasized that the Charity Bazaar charity festival is aimed at popularizing national values, customs, cuisine, folk games of different nations, as well as comprehensive support for those in need.
– Uzbekistan’s participation in this fair, as well as the presentation of wonderful traditions, history, lifestyle, values and, most importantly, Uzbek national cuisine, was of particular importance, he said. – Residents and guests of Pakistan were very pleased with the presentation of Uzbekistan. As a Tourism Ambassador, I must also emphasize that today's participation was a great opportunity to get acquainted with the tourism potential of the country. This will contribute to the growth of tourism and cultural exchange, strengthening friendly ties.
As part of the event, a “Parade of Peoples” and a concert program took place, in which a creative group of children of employees of the Embassy of Uzbekistan performed Uzbek dances. The children's performances created a joyful mood among the audience. It is noteworthy that many spectators danced to the sounds of Uzbek music.
