On June 2, 2026, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mirvokhid Azimov met with Kenji Hirata, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current issues of Uzbek-Japanese relations agenda and prospects for further expanding of bilateral cooperation.
The sides agreed to continue close cooperation in implementing agreements reached at the highest level, as well as for preparing joint events scheduled for this year.
