Uzbekistan and Pakistan Enter a New Stage of Cooperation in Urban Development, Digital Technologies, and Mining Industry

During the visit, the delegation held meetings in Tashkent with the leadership of the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology, the Ministry of Digital Technologies, IT Park Uzbekistan, the Tourism Committee, the National Committee for Sustainable Urban Development and Housing Market, as well as the Directorate for the Construction of the “New Tashkent” city.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in such areas as the implementation of the “New Tashkent” project, the introduction of “smart city” concepts in Khiva and other regions, the establishment of IT parks, the development of the mining sector, tourism, education, and professional exchange programs.
At the meeting with the Directorate for the Construction of the “New Tashkent” city, representatives of HRL Group expressed their readiness to cooperate in urban planning, master planning, the creation of engineering and communication networks, and the development of horizontal infrastructure.
During the visit, a memorandum of understanding was also signed between IT Park Uzbekistan and HRL Group. The parties agreed to develop practical cooperation in the fields of IT infrastructure, technology parks, data centers, and digital services.
Of particular practical importance was the delegation’s visit to the Khorezm region. The parties discussed the expansion of the city of Khiva, the construction of modern residential complexes and infrastructure facilities, as well as the implementation of an investment project in the pharmaceutical sector. Following the negotiations, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Khorezm regional administration and HRL Group.
At the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, the Pakistani side was presented with information on opportunities in the mining industry, agriculture, industrial zones, IT parks, railway infrastructure, airport management, and waste processing. Company representatives expressed interest in cooperation in the creation of data centers, “smart city” infrastructure, as well as in the fields of education and healthcare.
During meetings in the Samarkand region, opportunities for cooperation were explored within the framework of the “New Shirin” city project, as well as in the areas of tourism infrastructure, hotel construction, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and livestock farming.
The management of HRL Group also proposed establishing a branch of the Imam Bukhari Center in Pakistan within the “Capital Smart City” district in Islamabad. In addition, the parties discussed prospects for implementing a hotel project within the Imam Bukhari complex in the Samarkand region.
As repeatedly emphasized during the meetings, this visit contributes to elevating cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan to a new level in the fields of urban development, investment, digital technologies, mining industry, tourism, urbanization, and infrastructure development, while also strengthening ties between the business communities of the two countries.
