During the meeting, issues regarding the further expansion of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan in the fields of industry, technology, and investment were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the prospects for implementing investment projects in the Navoi region aimed at the production and localization of medical equipment.
It was noted that there is a high demand for medical equipment in Uzbekistan and neighboring countries, with import volumes growing annually. In this regard, the relevance of developing local manufacturing and establishing an effective service maintenance system in this sector was emphasized.
The Uzbek side proposed that its Pakistani partners establish a service and assembly center for medical equipment in the Navoi region. Furthermore, initiatives were put forward for the implementation of pilot projects in oxygen therapy devices and respiratory support equipment, the localization of casings, plastic, and mechanical components, as well as the organization of a regional supply chain for spare parts and technical maintenance.
In addition, it was proposed to implement joint educational programs aimed at training engineering personnel and enhancing their professional qualifications.
Akbar Allana, Director of “Alsons Group”, expressed high interest in the presented investment projects and confirmed the company's readiness to dispatch specialists to the Navoi region for a detailed study of cooperation opportunities.
This meeting is of significant importance for elevating cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan in the field of medical technology to a new level, launching competitive import-substituting manufacturing, and implementing joint investment projects targeting the Central Asian market.
