Khiva is preparing for the traditional “Melon Festival”
From August 8 to 10 in Khorezm - in the Khiva complexes “Ichan-Kala” and “Arda Khiva” the traditional festival “Melon Festival” will be held (“Qovun sayli”).
According to the portal uzbektourism.uz, as part of the festival organized by the Committee for Tourism and the khokimiyat of the Khorezm region, cities and districts of the region will hold an exhibition-fair of sweet melons grown in their regions. The pavilions will be festively decorated taking into account regional characteristics.
In addition, theatrical performances, a puppet theater and a display of national costumes, exhibitions of national dishes, Khorezm bread and handicrafts, live performances of artistic groups and folklore groups, master classes, as well as an exhibition of works of fine and applied art will be organized.
Active participants of the “Melon Festival” will be awarded valuable prizes from the Khorezm region khokimiyat and sponsors in various categories.
The main events of the festival will be held in the tourist complexes “Ichan-Kala” on August 8-9 and “Arda Khiva” on August 10 with gala concerts with the participation of local and foreign stars.
