Speech by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the ceremony in honor of the new city of Babur in the Andijan region

Dear compatriots, dear residents of Andijan!

I am very glad to meet you again in this wonderful spring time. I express my deep respect and respect to all of you.

As you know, the main goal of the reforms carried out in New Uzbekistan is to ensure the rights, interests and dignity of a person, of the entire people, and on this basis - increasing people's satisfaction with their lives.

We see the practical results of such large-scale and noble deeds in all regions, villages and villages of our Motherland, and this, Of course, it makes us all happy.

Real evidence of this is also clearly visible on the beautiful, unique land of Andijan. A great deal of work worthy of recognition is being carried out in the region in the fields of industry, entrepreneurship, and agriculture; gardens are being built, streets and mahallas are being improved, all conditions are being created for the population.

If there was an opportunity, I would come to this wonderful region more often and talk with pleasure with you, my dears. I will say frankly that meetings with such courageous and noble people - in whose heart Allah is, whose hands are busy with work - inspire me, fill me with priceless spiritual strength.

We can confidently say that on the land of Andijan the idea of New Uzbekistan, the breath of New Uzbekistan comes to every mahalla, every family, inspiring our people to achieve ever higher milestones.

This is precisely the biggest, most important result of the reforms that we and all our people were waiting for.

Dear friends!

We are proud that Andijan is one of the large modern cities of our country, Central Asia, the pearl of the Fergana Valley.

This ancient land has raised many scientists and thinkers, poets and writers, government and public figures, representatives of the cultural and art.

Andijan is the sacred land where our great ancestor, outstanding thinker, ruler and creator Zakhiriddin Muhammad Babur was born, and this also instills pride in us.

Today in Andijan, which has very great potential, all spheres and industries are dynamically developing. In order to more fully utilize such opportunities and further develop the region, two years ago we decided to build New Andijan and the Yangi Uzbekistan Park.

All of you are witnesses to the enormous work carried out over the past period to implement this large-scale project. It should be noted that you are not only witnesses, but also direct participants.

In a short time, simultaneously with this beautiful city, worthy of admiration, the Yangi Uzbekistan park was created.

I sincerely congratulate you, my dears, and in your person all our people on such a great labor victory. Let these grandiose transformations serve the entire people, first of all the hardworking and noble residents of Andijan!

I sincerely express my gratitude to the Andijan residents who worthily continue the creative traditions of their ancestors, demonstrating patriotism and initiative through practical deeds, as well as to all our compatriots who contributed to this noble work.

I would like to consult with you about an initiative that I have been thinking about for a long time.

What do you say if, in order to perpetuate the memory of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, who glorified our nation, our people all over the world with his unique scientific and creative heritage, we call New Andijan the city of Babur?

Thank you for your support. I am convinced that our people were waiting for this with all their hearts.

Hazrat Babur is a unique, great personality, of whom there are few in world history, he undoubtedly deserves to have his name borne not only by streets and squares, gardens and parks, but also by an entire city.

After all, Babur Mirzo is a worthy successor of the Temurid Renaissance, a great personality - patron of science, culture, art and literature, human talent.

The struggle for the establishment of peace and justice in the state, which he waged from his youth, the courage he showed along this path are an example of perseverance and patriotism.

Undoubtedly, even just one work “Baburnama” by our classical ancestor, who had encyclopedic knowledge and unique thinking, gives us the right to build such a beautiful city in his honor.

I emphasize again and again that we must always remember our ancestors - the world-famous sons of the Uzbek people, such as Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur.

I am convinced: raising the self-awareness of the younger generation, telling our children about the glorious history nation, developing science and education, continuing the traditions of the great ancestors, we will definitely build both the New Uzbekistan and the Third Renaissance!

Dear friends!

Zakhiriddin Muhammad Babur lived only 47 years. But in such a short period of time, he accomplished such great deeds, built such architectural monuments and gardens, leaving behind an unfading mark, which is the highest example for all of us.

In this regard, a tribute to the memory of Hazrat Babur, further wide familiarization of the people with his priceless heritage, its popularization throughout the world, we consider an important duty not only of our respected scientists and writers, but also of all of us.

I am confident that the region’s intelligentsia, motivated youth, and all residents of Andijan will be even more active in this. After all, we all know how the Andijan people, during the difficult years of the totalitarian regime, preserved in their hearts and minds the memory and respect for this great ancestor.

We highly appreciate the great work of many educators, such as our respected elder Zokirjon Mashrabov, carried out with direct government support, as well as the Babur International Foundation and the scientific expedition.

In this regard, special attention should be paid to the fact that the legacy of Babur Mirzo is truly a boundless ocean. Therefore, it is important not to stop the research in the field of Babur studies carried out in the country and in the region, to pass the baton to a new generation, brave and determined youth, and to bring this work to a new, higher level.

In this matter, I am always ready to provide comprehensive assistance.

Dear friends!

Not I would be mistaken if I said that the transformations being implemented in the country are in tune with the cherished dreams and goals of our outstanding ancestors, such as Babur Mirzo, their life ideals and great achievements.

Today we can rightfully declare that together with you, standing on this sacred land where Babur was born, we are participants in another historical event, the embodiment of his unfulfilled hopes.

From today on, as a practical task, the agenda includes the transformation of the city of Babur into the most beautiful, most modern city that we all dreamed of. In this city, in order to educate new Baburids, a large educational cluster will be built, including a specialized kindergarten and school, a university, a museum, a library and an IT park named after our great ancestor. A sports complex that meets the highest requirements will also be built on the territory of the university.

All of us, working hand in hand, will turn the city of Babur into a center of spirituality, embodying national values, a city of education, science and inspiration, a platform for the creative flight of youth, a center of tourism and culture not only of the Ferghana Valley, but of the entire country, a modern “smart city” - a smart city built on the basis of “green” technologies.

The area of the city of Babur will be 4 thousand hectares, it will create decent living and working conditions for 500 thousand people.

Like a large city bearing the name of the great poet and thinker Alisher Navoi, this city will become, figuratively speaking, a spiritual bridge between the glorious past and the future and will take its rightful place in our new history.

At the highest point of the park we will also erect a majestic monument to Zakhiriddin Muhammad Babur.

The city of Babur should become a kind of mirror reflecting national culture and art, Uzbek hospitality, tolerance and cooperation.

To realize these noble goals, we will adopt a large program, a separate fund will be created with an initial capital of $250 million. Additional funds will be allocated to the fund annually.

Deputy Prime Ministers, heads of relevant ministries and departments are taking part in today’s celebrations. They are instructed to begin the implementation of this large-scale project no later than in a month.

Dear residents of Andijan!

I think it would be appropriate if the rich art of our people is constantly demonstrated on the stage of the modern amphitheater in this beautiful park, and the poems of our wonderful poets are heard.

I am confident that the concert, which will be held here with the participation of famous artists and talented young performers, will be the beginning of this good tradition.

I take this opportunity, on behalf of all our people and on my own behalf, to sincerely congratulate all workers in the sphere of culture and art on today's professional holiday.

As you know, no matter where in the world, in what country Zakhiriddin is Muhammad Babur, all his life he yearned for his native land. I think you will agree that today the dream of our great ancestor has come true, it is as if he has returned to his homeland again. I congratulate all of us on this historical event.

I wish you and through you all the residents of Andijan peace and tranquility, good health and new successes.
