The visit of the President of Uzbekistan to the USA has ended
The historic visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to New York City to participate in the events of the anniversary 80th session of the General Assembly has ended UN.
During his stay in the United States, the head of our state spoke at the general political debates of the 80th anniversary session of the General Assembly, particularly focusing on the role of the UN as the main platform for solving the most pressing global problems, as well as the ongoing irreversible reforms in New Uzbekistan.
The Leader of Uzbekistan put forward a number of proposals and initiatives, aimed at solving the most pressing issues of the international and regional agenda, ensuring peace and sustainable development.
The central event of the visit was the meeting of the head of Uzbekistan with US President Donald Trump. The leaders of the two countries agreed to further build up Uzbek-American strategic partnership relations and expand practical cooperation.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev also held negotiations with UN Secretary-General A. Guterres, President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae-myung, King of Jordan Abdullah II bin al-Hussein, President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel, President Albania Bajram Begay, as well as IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, World Bank Group President Ajay Banga and World Trade Organization Director General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
The President of Uzbekistan received the US Special Presidential Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gore, Chairman of the Uzbekistan Cooperation Caucus in Congress USA, Congressman Trent Kelly.
The business program of the visit was also intense. The leader of Uzbekistan held a round table with the participation of the US business community, as well as negotiations with the heads of a number of leading transnational companies, corporations, investment funds and financial institutions - Traxys, FLSmidth, McKinsey, Go Green Partners, Colorado Geological School, BlackRock, Boeing Global, Franklin Templeton, Citigroup, Air Products, BNY, Jefferies, NASDAQ, Oppenheimer, Air Products and many others.
Based on the results of meetings and negotiations, a medium-term project program was formed. In the presence of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the special envoy of the US President Sergio Gore, a ceremony was held to exchange signed bilateral trade contracts and investment agreements, including in the field of critical minerals, civil aviation, chemical industry, energy and other priority areas.
At the end of the visit to the United States of America, the head of our state traditionally met with a group of compatriots working and living in the United States, as well as scholarship recipients of the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation studying at leading American universities.
At the end of the visit, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev left for the city of Tashkent.
