Visit of the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Arab Republic of Egypt

In particular, during the meeting with Mostafa Kamal Madbouly, Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, were conveyed to the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The parties discussed key issues related to the further development of the comprehensive partnership between Uzbekistan and Egypt, including the expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation, industrial collaboration, transport and logistics connectivity, and the implementation of joint projects. Views were also exchanged on strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as on pressing regional and international issues.
During the visit, negotiations were held with Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The parties discussed further development of relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Arab Republic of Egypt, the intensification of political dialogue at the highest and high levels, the expansion of trade, economic and investment partnership, as well as current regional and international issues.
Following the negotiations, a signing ceremony was held for a number of important documents. In particular:
– The Cooperation Program for 2026–2028 between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt;
– The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Center for Foreign Policy Studies and International Initiatives under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Institute for Diplomatic Studies under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
A roundtable discussion was also held at the Federation of Egyptian Industries with representatives of Egypt’s leading business circles and major companies. The meeting brought together executives and representatives of ACDIMA Group, Alexx-Performance, Bell Energy, DALTEX Co, EFC Plants, Elsewedy Electric, ORASCOM Construction, Seagull Petroleum and Mining, REDCON Construction, Travco Group and In2Metals. Discussions focused on prospects for cooperation in industrial partnership, energy, construction, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, logistics and infrastructure development.
In addition, during the meeting with Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Arab Republic of Egypt, particular attention was devoted to increasing bilateral trade, expanding investment flows, strengthening industrial cooperation and enhancing transport and logistics connectivity. The parties also noted the considerable potential for expanding cooperation in the fields of geology, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, energy and industry.
The program of events continued with participation in the cultural event titled “Uzbekistan–Egypt: A Dialogue of Civilizations and Heritage” held at the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo. As part of the event, a presentation of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan was held. Particular attention was devoted to the preservation of cultural heritage, support for academic research, the study and digitization of manuscripts, as well as the promotion of the values of enlightenment and tolerance.
It was emphasized that the outcomes of the visit would contribute to further strengthening the strategic partnership between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Arab Republic of Egypt, as well as expanding cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and educational spheres.
