The first meeting of the Termez Dialogue on Connectivity between Central and South Asia will be held on May 19-21 in Termez theme “Building a common space of peace, friendship and prosperity.”
The organizers are the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The international forum will bring together about 200 participants from Central and South Asia, Europe, and countries on one platform CIS, Asia-Pacific region, America, Middle East. Among them are representatives of political-economic, business circles, financial institutions, international and regional organizations, as well as prominent experts from analytical and research centers around the world.
The main goal of the dialogue is to form a multilateral discussion platform for the practical promotion of the special resolution of the UN General Assembly “Strengthening interconnectedness between Central and South Asia”, adopted in 2022 at the initiative of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyeva.
Forum participants will discuss the current state and prospects for interregional cooperation in Central and South Asia. The focus will be on strengthening cooperation in ensuring security, stability and sustainable development, expanding the role of the private sector and financial institutions in ensuring economic growth.
Among the main expected results is the adoption of a Communiqué calling for joint efforts to strengthen trust and cooperation between Central and South Asia.
The Termez dialogue is intended to become a permanent platform for determining the prospects for further advancement of interregional interconnectedness and maintenance of peace, security and stability on the vast Eurasian continent.
The event will be held at the Termez International Trade Center in the city of Termez, Surkhandarya region.
