The presentation of the book “New Uzbekistan: the path of Shavkat Mirziyoyev” took place in Islamabad
The Embassy of Uzbekistan, in collaboration with the Institute of Regional Studies (IRS), organized a presentation of the English edition of the book by the famous political scientist Kudratilla Rafikov “New Uzbekistan: the path of Shavkat Mirziyoyev.”
The event was attended by the press secretary of the President of Pakistan Murtaza Solangi, senior representatives of Pakistani government departments, members of parliament, more than ten foreign ambassadors, diplomats, businessmen, representatives of scientific and academic circles, media workers, as well as other guests, including citizens of Uzbekistan living in Islamabad and surrounding areas. From Uzbekistan, the presentation was attended by member of the Senate Committee on Science, Education and Health Hussein Ermatov, executive director of the Development Strategy Center Eldor Tulyakov and other officials.
The event was opened by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev, who noted that three significant books about Uzbekistan were presented in a short time in Islamabad: “Uzbekistan: The Third Renaissance – The Concept of the Future” by Muhammad Abbos Khon, “Shavkat Mirziyoyev: Great Leader of Reforms and Regional Integration” by Mehmud ul-Hasan Khon and “New Uzbekistan: the path of Shavkat Mirziyoyev” by Kudratilla Rafikov. He emphasized that the growing interest in Uzbekistan in the scientific and academic circles of Pakistan is evidence of strengthening bilateral relations.
In his speech, the Ambassador noted that Kudratilla Rafikov's book reveals in detail a wide range of reforms carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Topics covered in the book include key areas such as macroeconomic reforms, financial liberalization, poverty reduction, foreign policy, cultural diplomacy and regional integration.
During the event, an important aspect of deepening bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan was emphasized. It was especially noted that the strategic partnership between the two countries has reached a new level thanks to the personal efforts of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahboz Sharif. In particular, the parties are actively cooperating in such important areas as the construction of the Trans-Afghan Railway and the implementation of joint measures to increase trade volumes to 2 billion US dollars.
Then Senator Hussein Ermatov took the floor, who noted that reforms in Uzbekistan are systemic and comprehensive, and are forming a completely new image of the country. During his speech, he spoke about the contents of the book, which touched in detail on key political and socio-economic projects, the achieved results in the field of domestic and foreign policy, as well as regional integration.
Executive Director of the Center for Development Strategy of Uzbekistan Eldor Tulyakov in his speech focused on the fact that over the past eight years, large-scale political reforms have been carried out in Uzbekistan aimed at fundamentally changing the relationship between state and society. He noted that Qudratilla Rafikov's book is a detailed analysis of these processes, showing the formation of a new model of the country's development.
Press Secretary of the President of Pakistan Murtaza Solangi, in turn, highly praised the efforts of Uzbekistan in the field of reforms, and also noted the importance of Uzbekistan as a model for other countries in terms of updating public life and improving the well-being of the population. He emphasized that there are many common ties between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, such as similarities in languages and cultures, which promote mutual understanding and cooperation in various fields, including agriculture, information technology, education, health, defense and security. In recent years, bilateral trade has increased from several hundred million dollars to nearly $500 million and continues to grow.
IRS President Johar Salim in his speech emphasized that Kudratilla Rafikov’s book reveals key aspects of political, trade, economic and social reforms in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He noted that this work is an important contribution to understanding the development path of the “New Uzbekistan”, which serves as an example for other countries, including Pakistan.
At the end of the event, all those present were presented with copies of the book. An exhibition of national art of Uzbekistan was also organized and traditional Uzbek dishes were demonstrated, which aroused great admiration among the Pakistani guests.
