Photo exhibition “Uzbekistan through the eyes of Pakistani photographers” opened in Islamabad
The National Art Gallery of Pakistan hosted the opening ceremony of a photo exhibition and presentation of a special photo album “Uzbekistan through the eyes of Pakistani photographers.”
The event was attended as honored guests by the Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan Ataullah Tarar and the Minister of National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi.
The ambassador of the tourism brand of our country in Pakistan Hamid Mahmood, the ambassador of pilgrimage tourism Sheikh Muhammad Hassan Hasib ur-Rehman, the head of the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation Aftab were also invited to the opening ur-Rehman Rana, heads of ministries and departments, members of parliament, foreign ambassadors accredited in Islamabad, representatives of the diplomatic corps, business circles working in the tourism sector and journalists.
The event, which began with the performance of the national anthems of the two countries, was officially opened by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtayev. In his speech, he spoke about the historical, spiritual and cultural ties between the two countries, great scientists and researchers - natives of Uzbek soil, their role in the cultural and spiritual life of our countries.
- Photographs of Pakistani photojournalists presented at the exhibition skillfully reveal the contribution of the cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, Tashkent, Andijan and Fergana to world civilization, their place as scientific and spiritual centers of the Islamic world, their spiritual heritage and modern development, said the head of the diplomatic mission.
Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan Ataullah Tarar began his speech by highlighting the close cooperation that has developed between Uzbekistan and Pakistan in recent years. He noted that relations between the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif are based on trust and mutual respect.
He said that such close relations, in turn, play an important role in further strengthening the multilateral partnership between our countries.
- Pakistan and Uzbekistan are connected by very strong bonds - religion, culture, shared history and a common future. As I emphasized, the ties between our countries are deep-rooted, and this exhibition is an excellent expression of our relations. Take Lahorska for example. the fortress and the Bukhara Arch - both of them are high examples of architectural art. We need to show the exhibited works not only in Islamabad but also in other parts of Pakistan. Because not everyone has the opportunity to come here and see these paintings, he said.
It was emphasized that such initiatives, in turn, will help increase mutual understanding between our peoples and increase tourist exchange.
Minister of National Heritage and Culture of Pakistan Aurangzeb Khan Khichi spoke about the long-standing cultural and educational ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
- We are connected by historical and cultural ties. If you look at our national costumes, architecture and values, you will see many similarities. The photographs presented at today's photo exhibition by professional Pakistani photographers also confirm this. The photo exhibition not only reflects our common historical and cultural heritage, but also serves as a source of inspiration for future generations, he said.
At the end of the event, participants were presented with photo albums published by the embassy throughout the year, magazines, brochures and other promotional materials. The buffet with dishes of national Uzbek cuisine brought an even more intimate atmosphere to the event.
The photo exhibition “Uzbekistan through the eyes of Pakistani photographers” became another striking expression of cultural cooperation between the two countries.
