A round table with compatriots took place in Jeddah
On December 25 in the city of Jeddah, a round table was held at the Consulate General of Uzbekistan with compatriots living in the cities of Mecca and Medina, with the participation of our delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Olimjon Abdullayev.
The event was attended by citizens working in international organizations, students and young scientists studying in leading higher educational institutions of Saudi Arabia, as well as compatriots employed in various fields.
At the beginning of the meeting, congratulations were sent on the 33rd anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution Uzbekistan and the coming year 2026.
Compatriots were presented with information about the country’s entry into a new stage of development, ongoing political and socio-economic reforms, as well as priority national programs. Separately, reforms in the religious and educational sphere, the preservation of national values and work on the improvement of sacred places were noted.
It was also emphasized that branches of leading foreign higher educational institutions are opening in Uzbekistan and wide educational opportunities are being created for young people.
During the round table, compatriots were given explanations on issues of compliance laws and rules of residence and activity in Saudi Arabia, after which an open session of questions and answers took place.
Participants noted that as a result of the ongoing reforms, the international authority of Uzbekistan is consistently strengthening.
In addition, the situation of 35 migrant workers working in the construction sector in the Rabigh industrial zone of the company “AGCC” (Turkey) was studied, their appeals were considered and appropriate explanations were given.
