Uzbekistan and Slovakia brought relations to a new stage of cooperation and established a strategic partnership
The national anthems of Uzbekistan and Slovakia were performed by a military orchestra. The leaders walked around the guard of honor and greeted members of the official delegations.

On June 9, negotiations were held at the Kuksaroy residence of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Robert Fico.
Current issues of further development of practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Slovakia were discussed.
At the beginning of the meeting, the leader of Uzbekistan especially emphasized that the current visit opens a qualitatively new stage in the history of Uzbek-Slovak multifaceted relations.
The dynamic development of interaction in all areas was noted with satisfaction. Constructive political contacts have been established at the level of Foreign Ministries, business and humanitarian exchanges have intensified.
Trade turnover is growing. The first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission was held fruitfully in May. Work is underway on a number of new areas and cooperation projects.
Taking into account modern challenges and the unpredictable international situation, the importance of systemic interaction, coordination and support through foreign policy departments, including within the framework of partnerships with European institutions, was noted.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of increasing trade turnover, primarily through expanding the range of mutual supplies.
We are talking about supplies from Uzbekistan of textile, agricultural, electrical, chemical products, polymers, and from Slovakia - rubber, auto components, pharmaceuticals, and other industrial goods.
As part of the practical implementation of the signed agreements in the field of technical regulation and metrology, the importance of eliminating technical barriers and launching a quantum standard laboratory was noted.
An agreement was reached on the preparation of a full-scale Industrial Cooperation Program with leading companies in Slovakia, including the implementation of projects in the agricultural sector, localization of auto components, production of pharmaceuticals, as well as projects in the field of green energy and tourism.
Great opportunities exist in the implementation of digital solutions and startup investments. In this context, it was proposed to work on the creation of a joint venture fund for the acceleration of IT startups.
To support joint projects, it was also proposed to widely use available financial instruments.
In the humanitarian sphere, mutual interest in the development of educational and academic exchange was confirmed. An agreement was reached to launch joint research programs, including with the participation of Comenius University in Bratislava.
The parties agreed to adopt a program of interaction in the field of culture, providing for mutual exhibitions, film screenings, concerts, as well as projects in the field of museums.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of organized labor migration. The high interest of the Slovak side in establishing systematic cooperation in this area was noted.
There was also an exchange of views on issues of the international agenda, including mutual support at multilateral platforms.
In conclusion, an agreement was reached that in order to ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of the decisions and agreements adopted, the governments of the two countries will adopt a comprehensive “road map."

Following the results of the negotiations held in Tashkent, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Robert Fico signed a Joint Declaration on the establishment of strategic partnership relations.
In the presence of the leaders, a ceremony for the exchange of bilateral agreements also took place, in particular:
– on the training of diplomatic personnel;
– on cooperation in the field of agriculture;
– on cooperation in the field of standardization, metrology and conformity assessment of goods;
– on interaction in the field of regulation of energy markets;
– Program of cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2025-2026;
– Program of cooperation in the field of standardization for 2025-2026.

Following the results of the Uzbek-Slovak high-level negotiations, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico together planted a tree on the Alley of Honored Guests.
The ceremony became a symbol of the strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries, marked the beginning of a new stage in the development of Uzbek-Slovak strategic partnership relations.
