The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev met with the Director of Diplomatic and Global Cooperation of the leading news agency of Pakistan "Associated Press of Pakistan" (APP) Ali Raza Alvi and the head of the DND News Agency, Iqrar Harun.
At the beginning of the conversation, the Pakistani side was familiarized with the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan and their effectiveness. In particular, it was emphasized that the country pays special attention to the comprehensive development of the media, a strong organizational and legal framework has been created, and a system of support and encouragement for industry workers has been established.
During the conversation, the current state and prospects of Uzbek-Pakistan relations were discussed. It was noted that active political dialogue continues between the countries, parliamentary and interdepartmental exchanges are effectively developing, and cooperation in the trade and economic sphere has reached a new level.
It was emphasized that our countries and peoples are united by a common history, cultural heritage, religion and similar values. In this context, the parties noted the importance of intensifying cooperation between news agencies and the media of the two countries, which will further strengthen mutual ties and increase awareness among young people.
It was separately noted that in order to achieve targets in the trade and economic sphere, increase trade turnover and fully unlock the existing potential, it is necessary to provide the business community with timely and reliable information.
Associated Press of Pakistan Director of Diplomatic and Global Cooperation Ali Raza Alvi proposed considering the creation of a special private initiative social media platform that would help strengthen bilateral cooperation. According to him, such a platform would play an important role in the development of cultural exchange, including spiritual and educational projects, music, theater, poetry, national cuisine and other common traditions, and would also contribute to deeper interaction and understanding between people.
The head of the DND News Agency, Agha Ikror Harun, in addition to cooperation in the media field, drew attention to the importance of developing historical and cultural exchanges. “We read a lot about Uzbekistan from various sources. However, many of us do not know that the true son of the Uzbek people, Zakhiriddin Muhammad Babur, is from Uzbekistan. We are ready to prepare and publish books in Urdu in order to convey accurate information about Uzbekistan to the Pakistani public and correct historical inaccuracies,” said the head of DND News Agency.
