Uzbekistan and Pakistan will expand cooperation in law enforcement
Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev met with First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Pakistan Muhammad Khurram Agha.
During the meeting, it was noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan is based on the highest level of trust and friendship. The importance of further development of political dialogue, processes of cultural and humanitarian exchange, trade, economic and investment activities, as well as the implementation of agreements, specific and targeted projects in the law enforcement field was emphasized.
The parties discussed issues of improving the legal framework between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, organizing interdepartmental working meetings on the fight against international terrorism, organized crime, cybercrime and drug trafficking, exchange experience in ensuring security at public events and tourist sites, as well as establishing cooperation in the field of cybersecurity and digital forensics.
The First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Pakistan highly appreciated the reforms and changes in Uzbekistan and invited the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of our country to visit Pakistan. It was noted that the exchange of visits will serve to further strengthen cooperation in the field of law enforcement and raise mutual trust to a new level.
“We are interested in expanding cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan. If a meeting is organized, we will be able to discuss the prospects for intensifying mutual cooperation on issues within the competence of the relevant departments of both countries,” he said. - I also have a lot of information about the rich historical heritage of Uzbekistan, in particular about the cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, Tashkent and Khiva. I visited Uzbekistan 14 years ago and have fond memories of your country. I'd like to go there again."
The parties also exchanged views on the prospects for increasing the flow of tourists between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, creating convenience for tourists, in particular, simplifying visa procedures and introducing an “electronic visa” system.
At the end of the meeting, which was held in a friendly and constructive spirit, promising tasks were identified aimed at further expanding cooperation in the field of law enforcement between our countries.
