Uzbekistan and Bulgaria will expand mutually beneficial cooperation
On June 10, the official welcoming ceremony of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, who is making an official visit to our country, took place at the Kuksaroy residence.
The national flags of the two countries were hung on the square in front of the residence and a guard of honor was lined up.
The President of Uzbekistan warmly welcomed the distinguished guest and invited him to the pedestal.
The national anthems were played. To the sounds of a military band, the leaders walked around the guard of honor and greeted members of the official delegations.
After joint photography, negotiations between the heads of state began with the participation of delegations.

Talks of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place at the Kuksaroy residence Shavkat Mirziyoyeva with the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev with the participation of official delegations.
Current issues of further development of practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Bulgaria were considered.
Having warmly welcomed the leader of Bulgaria, the head of our state emphasized that the first summit in 17 years will be historic and will lead Uzbek-Bulgarian relations of friendship and partnership to a qualitatively new level.
The intensification of interaction at the level of parliaments, economic and foreign policy departments was noted with deep satisfaction.
Indicators of trade turnover are growing, new directions and projects of cooperation are being developed.
Humanitarian exchanges are being carried out, twin cities have been established connections between Bukhara and Varna, Samarkand and Plovdiv.
In order to further strengthen multifaceted cooperation, the importance of establishing systemic contacts between foreign policy departments was noted.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of increasing trade turnover, primarily through expanding the supply of textile, food, chemical and pharmaceutical products, metal products and technological equipment.
For to stimulate the growth of mutual trade, a decision was made to open trading houses in the capitals, accredit laboratories and allocate preferential credit lines.
The promotion of joint projects in the agro-industrial complex and food industry, pharmaceuticals, geology, in the field of artificial intelligence, digital technologies and IT, tourism is designated as a priority area.
Special attention is paid to the development of effective ground-based and air corridors. In this context, the parties agreed to consider the possibility of launching direct flights between the two countries.
In order to establish systemic interaction in the field of labor resources, the issue of opening a representative office of the Migration Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the city of Sofia will be worked out.
Initiatives were supported to intensify humanitarian ties, including academic and scientific exchanges, including holding a meeting this year in Andijan rectors of leading universities.
An agreement was also reached to organize the Week of Uzbek and Bulgarian Culture and Cinema next year.
In order to ensure systematic control over the implementation of the agreements reached, the parties agreed to adopt a joint “road map” and increase the level of co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission, with the involvement of heads of regions and large companies.
At the end of the meeting, President Rumen Radev invited President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to visit Bulgaria on a return visit at a convenient time.

Following the results of the negotiations held in the city of Tashkent, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic Bulgaria Rumen Radev signed a Joint Declaration on expanding bilateral cooperation.
In the presence of the leaders, an exchange of bilateral documents also took place, including the Cooperation Program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2026-2027 and the Agreement on the establishment of partnership relations between the cities of Tashkent and Sofia.

At the end of the Uzbek-Bulgarian high-level negotiations, a tree planting ceremony took place at the Kuksaroy residence.
Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Rumen Radev, as a sign of friendship and partnership of our peoples, mutual desire to open a new page in the history of bilateral relations, planted a tree on the Alley of Honored Guests.
