I sincerely congratulate you on the opening of the IV International Bakhshi Art Festival in ancient Khiva is a unique open-air city-museum.

I express my sincere gratitude, deep respect and best wishes to the representatives of authoritative international organizations and fraternal countries, masters of folk art, famous cultural and artistic figures from more than 40 countries of the world participating in today's art festival.

Welcome to the hospitable Uzbekistan, to the ancient and beautiful Khorezm!

Dear friends!

The international authority of our festival is increasingly increasing. Holding the current forum in Khorezm, the pearl of the East, gives it a special spirit and significance. The school of storytellers of this region has a very ancient and rich history, and it will not be an exaggeration to say that it is from this “big river” that world-famous classical songs, melodies, and beautiful dances such as lazgi draw their strength.

The folk bakhshi of Uzbekistan raised by this sacred land are Bola bakhshi - Kurbonnazar Abdullayev, Kalandar bakhshi - Ruzimboy Normatov, Abdulla Kurbonnazarov, Etmishboy Abdullayev, with a bright voice and poetic gift, sublimely performed folk dastans, such as “Oshik Garib va Shokhsanam”, “Gurugli”, “Avazkhon”, “Alpamysh” and “Hirmondali”, and today we note with deep gratitude the worthy place of these works in our spiritual treasury as an invaluable heritage of national culture and wish to the current successors of the art of bakhshi creative success and development.

I am sure that these days you will get many vivid impressions from meetings and sincere conversations with our hospitable, generous people, who wholeheartedly love and honor art, direct acquaintance with the rich history of our region, its culture and eternal values, shrines, today achievements of New Uzbekistan, in particular, the work carried out to develop the art of bakhshi.

Taking this opportunity, I wish success to all participants, as well as the work of the international scientific and practical conference that will be held as part of the festival.
