Islam Karimov led Uzbekistan during an exceptionally complex and crucial period in the country’s history. His name is inextricably linked to the attainment of state independence, the revival of national statehood, and the country’s embarking on a path of independent development.
Independence, first and foremost, restored our honor and dignity, our sacred religion, our native language, and our forgotten national values.
Thanks to independence, we came to understand our identity and demonstrated to the world that we are worthy heirs to the glorious legacy of our ancestors.
In this regard, preserving the memory of those who made a significant contribution to laying the foundations of the country’s independence, ensuring peace and stability, and serving the well-being of the people is an important spiritual value.
